What do you mean by cloud computing? People refer to different things as
cloud computing. Online storage space, like Dropbox or Ubuntu One, is
cloud computing. Then there is Infrastructure-as-a-Service like Amazon
AWS, which for most people is "the cloud computing platform". Eucalyptus
is an open source implementation of AWS API. There is also
Platform-as-a-Service like Google Apps which is called cloud computing.
Then there is the old-fashioned Software-as-a-Service, like Salseforce
CRM, which is thought of as Cloud Computing.
So, cloud computing is different things to different people. You should
first decide what you want to achieve before attempting to do it via
Ubuntu. Ubuntu is nice and all, but at the end of the day, it's just an
OS which might or might not be the best tool for the job you want to do,
depending on what it is that you want to do.
Cheers
