Unfortunately yes: the half-gigabyte above 2GB is not showing up in
/proc/iomem. This can mean several things:
- the half-gigabyte is above the 4GB mark (this is highly unlikely);
- your motherboard is 4GB-capable but can work with two different
DIMMs (this is possible, I can't guess -- my laptop works with 4GB
event though the manual says the contrary). If you have a possibility
to try with 2 2GB DIMMs, give it a try;
- your motherboard is not capable of more than 2GB.
