I didn't say to edit it.  I said that if your setup
was correct that there should be a reference to libflashplayer.so in it.  Was there a reference?

Well, I don't have your original post any more but if
you copied the libflashplayer.so to the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins dir and also:

/usr/lib/opera/plugins
/usr/lib/seamonkey/plugins
and for any other browser you have installed.
You should be good to go.  If it still doesn't work
you need to tell the list Just how you downloaded/installed the flashplayer plugin, whether from the repos(give the complete deb package file name) or from the adobe site and if you followed their instruction to the letter.  Sorry if you gave this info before but I don't have the original post any more.  With a little more detail in just what you've done someone on the list should be able to help solve your problem.
