aircrack not working even with wpa key in dictionary

Thanks guys,
I've done another try and I found the key, maybe I did not captured enough 
packets to do the crack.
Anyway, it is not clear to me if aricrack works only on the dictionary words 
or if it tries a combination of such words to get best results. For instance, 
to survive a "standard" aricrack attack it should suffice to combine a couple of 
dictionary words with commas, stop and question marks, or not?
