     Hi Dick, I am using Lucid and never had that happen. But I never 
did what you have done. I always make a cd-rom and then just use it.

     Can you try that? I am d/l beta 2 right now for my laptop.  I also 
use k3b to make my cd's and it's far better than others.  It is 
available with $apt-get install k3b
