hey list,
im running karmic 9.10 server with samba, vmware and apache.
this morning i had an excel samba problem ( "[]" is not allowed in excel
files and pahts ) and thought something wrong with my samba server.
anyhow i experimented with :
[share]
...
profile acls = yes
nt acl support = yes
an restarted samba.
and i cannot really remeber there was also an update this morning which
i can't find in my /var/log/aptitude (but maybe i made an aptitude
safe-upgrade on another machine)!?!?
since restarting samba (or maybe the update) apache says constantly
"Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server."
and gnome complains about permission for the .ICEAuthority
obviously there is sth. wrong with the permissions on my machine. I cann
login as root (this machine has a root account), su user and change for
example the .ICEAuthority
my wild guess: samba enabled some ACL restrictions on my machine which
are still running. something mad with my permissions..?
but i've no idea what is wrong....
any ideas here?
regards,
gregor
