Nothing compares to a fresh install, at least on Windows...

Virtualbox (last release 3.1.6 - deb
http://download.virtualbox.org/virtualbox/debian karmic non-free) offers
adequate support for USB on Win and a few other things, it's worth a try
before opting for double boot discomfort (and by the way, I don't know
why, boots much more quickly than the real thing).
