Keyboard Indicator panel applet

When I upgraded to 10.04 I found that I had acquired a keyboard Indicator
panel applet icon on my panel.  How do I get rid of it?  There is no
"remove from panel" option.  Nor am I able to move it to a more convenient
position as there's no "Move" option.  

I have no need to switch between GBr and US layouts.

I'm surprised that panel applets aren't forced to adhere to a standard set
of behaviours.
