Registering web browser with update-alternatives

Problem solved. Even after removing all traces of a web browser config
from Thuinderchicken's user.js and pref.js files, it still would not
open web pages in the default web browser. The fix involved Edit ->
Preferences -> Attachments -> Content Type -> http which was set to
"Sensible Browser". I set it to ask, then clicked a link and when it
asked I selected the script and clicked the "Every time" checkbox.

The problem was in Thunderbird, and it is now fixed. Sorry for the noise.
