Newtonmas is a day to sit around a tree decorated with apple shaped
objects and to exchange gifts of knowledge with your loved ones. This may
involve copious amounts of food, often a Meleagris gallopavo is used as
nourishment (except in the former British colonies, where most Meleagris
are already consumed about a month earlier).
