File manager with pdf and plain text embedding?

Hi all, I am looking for a file manager that has PDF and plain text
embedding, in a fashion that would let the user browse the file system
and use documents without the filemanager portion becoming hidden. I
have suggested two KDE bugs on the matter, but if something else
already exists I would love to know about it.

Dolphin columns view: preview file in next column
