Hi, all
Hope the holidays are going well for everyone. My girlfriend asked me put a
trial of ubuntu on her desktop system so she have a go at it to see if
switching to Ubuntu would work for her. She has a Sony Vaio All-In-One. I
grabbed 10.10 from the Ubuntu site and burned it.
When I loaded the disc it asked me automagically to run wubi (never seen
that before). I tried booting from the disc, but first got a kb failure, and
then, after the initial bootup sequence, the screen simply goes black. I
went back and took the Wubi option, which, after the install, asked to
reboot to complete the installation. I got the same results. Since the
graphic card seems to be compatible (checked both ubuntu and linuxhardware),
I'm wondering about this box. I've never seen a system that Ubuntu couldn't
be installed on, live cd or otherwise. Has anyone gotten Ubuntu installed on
an all-in-one system and was there anything different that I'd need on the
boot line to get this started? Thanks, as always, for the input...
If it matters, the model is Sony VAIO PCV-A1111L.

Jack
