No, just don't use the company SMTP server. Works great if your employer
allows you to set up a tunnel to your own server at home or at the
datacenter. There exist lots of different tunnel options: ssh,
ssh-over-https, openvpn, ip-over-dns (NSTX), ip-over-ping (ICMPTX),...

You just have to agree with your employer that work-related mail goes
trough the company SMTP, and other mail does not.
