ubuntu 8.04 hardware abstraction layer HALD hangs

i solve the problem:
1. cd /usr/local/var/run/dbus
2. sudo ln -s /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket  system_bus_socket
3. sudo dpkg --confingure -a 
the problem can be done. and now my system work fine .
