Editing Gnome for single click

In kde on Karmic, do Kmenu->Computer->System Settings->Mouse then under
the general tab you can select either single click or double click to
open files and folders. that should do it for you using the new Kmenu.
There are other ways to access System Settings in kde, including a SS
icon that can be added to sys tray. System Settings is what you want to
set up your keyboard, mouse, joystick, etc and setup shortcuts, standard
and global for the keyboard. Have fun.
