skype not working properly

I am using ubuntu 9.04 and skype 2.1.0.47

When I am skyping to a windows machine, the windows machine can hardly 
hear my voice.
When I make a test call, I only hear my voice as a wizzling sound.
The skype voice setup is: PulseAudio server (local) (the only choice)
Video working ok

Before that I used skype 2.0.0.72 and then the windows machine could not 
see my video, but voice was okay.


I also have skype installed on ubuntu 9.10, but here the windows machine 
cannot hear me at all.

Any clues.
