Yes indeed there is....

Go to google, and type in: 
        site:lists.ubuntu.com <Whatever You're Searching For>

That should do it. 

Also as a word of advice, It might be easier to follow the mailing list
if you switched to receiving the individual emails, rather than the
digest. Others have also suggested newsfeed readers and the like, but I
generally prefer having the emails in my inbox... now that you know how,
you can see the archives for extensive discussions on the matter :)
