NTFS drive wont mount - "unknown filesystem"?

Actually, I keep both updated & in my arsenal of 'fix-it' CD's :-) I
highly recommend ultimateboot, but in this case I think he's probably
going to need TestDisk. Although I think it would be better used by
someone familiar with it's utilities and disk recovery overall.
