Upgrading Virtualbox

Jim,

If your VMs are in the default locations, it shouldn't be affected at all.

As a precaution:

1. Copy the Virtualbox folder to another location as a precautionary backup.
2. Make sure none of the VMs are running befor you start the procedure
3. Run the "first time setup" as soon as you finished installing the new
version (in a terminal window: sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup)

I'd recommend adding the Repository from the above link.

If you don't like to tinker with the trminal and Repositories, try this:
