Gitosis needed for single user?

Hi,

I want to use git on a server as a single user. I would have an account on
that server anyway, do I still need gitosis (http://swik.net/gitosis) or can
I get by with git-core?

Btw. I never quite figured out for whom I needed to create the ssh key when
initializing gitosis? For the gitosis user?
