Not getting the same issue here.  Mine just says "Switch from [user]..." 
I don't have a user list either at log in, so that may be the 
difference.  I have to enter a user name at log in.  This change is 
discussed in detail in the archives but the code from cli is:

         sudo -u gdm gconftool-2 --set --type boolean 
/apps/gdm/simple-greeter/disable_user_list true

What I get is my standard log in screen when I attempt to reproduce your 
issue.  Maybe another can reproduce.
