From your Header, you are still using Thunderbird v2.0.0.23 (Lucid
comes with TB 3.0.4) in which case you need to insert these 2 lines in
the Configure Editor (Prefs>Advanced):
network.protocol-handler.app.http
network.protocol-handler.app.https
as "boolean true"
Also, make sure that you have both TB and FF as your default apps for
internet access (System>Preferences>Preferred Applications) and make
sure that the command line setting to activate each is correctly shown.
