For what it’s worth, I agree completely with what Johnnylee wrote.
Ubuntu and other versions of Linux are used by millions of people all
over the world. Many (perhaps most?) of them would have *no* computer
system or software if they had to pay for it. Because thousands of
people are prepared to do the work to make this possible, there are
systems––Ubuntu first and foremost––that I would guess work perfectly
for at least 99 per cent of them 99 per cent of the time. For the
remaining problems there is free support, such as this list.
What a shame that such fundamental principles have to be pointed out
from time to time on a *support* list.
