I have attached it to the bug. In addition, I attached a diff of the home dir
from before and after running your commands.
I'd suggest to raise the importance of this bug since it is reproducible by
a default install from both official alternate and desktop CDs. And it leaves
the system in a state from which an average user is not able to get out from.
An average user will wipe ubuntu and install mickeysoft... This might result
in bad reputation for ubuntu. So IMHO, this should be resolved ASAP.
