     It is hard to believe but it appears that Windows 7 writes to the 
MBR every time it is booted up. Leave it to the guys at Microsoft :-(

     Sounds like when win7 boots up it looks at the MBR and if it is not 
correct (for win7), it writes the win7 boot message which does not work 
well :-D
