10.04 Hardware Settings on Lenovo Thinkpad

Two issues I have with 10.04 on a Lenovo Thinkpad X100e:
1. I can't set the screen brightness. There are no apparent control
settings in Preferences or Administration to control the screen
brightness. Fn Delete or Home (the Windows brightness controls) lock up
the system.
2. If the Bluetooth adapter gets turned off in Windows Ubuntu can't turn
it back on, or find it for that matter. I have to reboot into Windows to
turn the Bluetooth adapter back on if it should get turned off (when
Windows goes into hibernation for instance).
