How do I get my MX870 Canon Printer to work with ubuntu?

Also, if you can find anywhere on the box or in any advertising that it
is supposed to work with Linux (and that includes a Tux logo), take it
back and get a refund. In fact, you could probably get a refund anyway,
it's just easier if they said it was something it clearly isn't.
