Torrents killing my internet connection

It could also be that the router doesn't like a huge amount of half open
TCP connection, and gives up (hangs or crashes). I have seen this with
several 'el cheapo' routers. Sometimes they don't even need a reboot to
recover, just give it a couple of minutes and they will be back alive,
when all the thousands of connections have stopped.
