10.04 and VMware Server

I can't say, but I have run VMware Server 2 on 10.04 successfully.

Note, however, that 2.0.0 is out of date. The current release is
2.0.2. I suggest upgrading VMware before Ubuntu. This also applies to
any guest additions installed inside VMs.
