In all seriousness, I suggest a backup of /etc, anything you may have
in /usr/local, and /home/<user(s)> and do a wipe and reinstall. In my
experience, 9.10 was really, really bad. It was the Vista of Ubuntu. I
upgraded to 10.04 2 months before it went gold, and was so much happier,
I can't even begin to express with mere words how much better it is.
