OK,  but one problem I am having is getting apt-get to install  
anything!  I haven't used apt-get since last school year, but if  
memory serves there's some way to update what repository it's using?   
Maybe there's a better one for me to use?  I can't even 'get apt-cache  
search xyz' to do anything!
