Let me see if I'm following this one correctly:

1. You posted a request for help with a specific problem that seems to
apply to specific hardware and software, but the only specific
information you provided was "early use of lucid."  (Let's ignore for
the moment that this is completely improper English grammar as Lucid
is a proper name referring to a particular release of Ubuntu, whereas
lucid is an adjective describing clarity, something missing in the
original request....)

2. Someone who has been quite helpful to many people on this list
replied, requesting, in his own way, more lucidity as to the nature of
the problem.

3. You responded with an insulting, foul language top-post apparently
complaining because one person did not see enough information to
respond intelligently where one other person took a stab in the dark
that, as it happens, you said was no help.

I invite you to continue to fume at how utterly unhelpful those of us
who are still waiting (with nothing but respect for NoOp's effort) for
enough information to respond with something more concrete than a stab
in the dark are.  Let us know how that goes, won't you?

I am reminded of the days when the standard answer to a question of
this nature was "RTFM," and the usual replies were in one of two
categories - "What is 'RTFM?'" and "How dare you tell me to do my own
homework!"

You can't please everyone all the time, but you can fool most of them
most of the time....
