No kidding, that's what I miss about my old 486/DX2-66. It booted slow
enough to actually read the messages. I thought they were just
fascinating and liked showing them off to my Win95 friends who got
nothing more than a "TAH DAH!" for their troubles. I think this was
addressed a release or so ago, where you edited a line in grub to enable
splash and disable text during the boot?? Oh, we can't edit that no
more? :( Ric
