No idea about ymail, but gmail does show your own posts, as a sent
item. If you delete the thread to which you are replying right after
sending your email, your post will show up in your inbox.

Yes, yahoo also saves a [copy] in the Sent folder, but I belong to several yahoo 
groups and another linux-based forum and the only time I ever see my own post -- 
or a part of it -- on any list is when someone quotes back a portion as you did 
above. I can also go to the group site and see it in the archives, but not on 
list. Not a terribly big thing, I guess.
