I've just checked the archives because I thought that I'd requested

This is what I thought that I'd written:

Please run the following on the smb server and post it on paste.ubuntu.com
testparm -v
smbclient -L //127.0.0.1
pdbedit -Lw
netstat -ntulp | grep mbd
