Is there a shortcut for accessing the top panel elements

There seems to be a bit of a problem here. System > Preferences >
Keyboard Shortcuts gives Ctrl-Alt-Delete as 'Log Out', but this just
brings up a Shutdown Menu (Shutdown, Restart, Suspend, Hibernate) with
no Logout option.
So if a shutdown option is what you want, then Ctrl-Alt-Delete is what
you need, but if you want Logout, then you need to add a Custom shortcut
and I don't know what the command would be. Perhaps someone else can
help with that.
