Preparing Ubuntu 10.04 new install - 32 or 64 bit? Please suggest.

Don't be deterred by the images. 64-bit Linux works as well on Intel as 
AMD multicore processors.
Just burn an .iso 10.04 and try it.
I agree with you that Maverick and Natty are still not up to be a stable 
OS. Stick with the LTS versions and you have less hassle. Never go with 
the latest because it is seldom the greatest.
