I don't think this is causing the problem.

It looks it have something to do with KMS, so we probably need a newer 
kernel (*.36 afaik)....

'xrandr --output DVI-0 --left-of VGA-0' gives:

xrandr: screen cannot be larger than 1280x2048 (desired size 2560x1024)
