I've installed LibreOffice, and have a comment

One poster made the comment that installing LibreOffice from the terminal
is easy, so why not do it now. I've gone ahead and done it. Let me tell
you why I very much prefer Synaptic.

The instructions for installing on Ubuntu are incorrect. At one place,
they advise you to right-click and choose "Open with terminal." Right
clicking at the indicated point offers no such option. I did manage to
work around it and get it installed, but letting Synaptic take care of
all the stuff would have been glorious.

My opinion: so long as Linux lacks a universal installer -- to handle
just about any situation -- it will scare off some people. Folks, for
better or worse, have gotten quite used to Windows Installer. Say what
you want, and as faulty as MSI is, it still beats having to type all the
instructions in terminal. It's a bit cryptic for those of us weaned on
Windows or even for folks like myself weaned on DOS.

Just a thought.
