What's with the GNOME CD player?

I use only k9copy for DVDs and only k3b for burning.

I only use either vlc or xine for playing DVDs or playing CDs - have 
been for years (no deviation from this practice). I don't know if xine 
or vlc are kde apps, which then begs the question, "What is your Gnome 
CD player?"
