Upgrade from 6.06 LTS to 10.04 LTS

...and you'd risk an upgrade from 6.06 to 10.04? Pull my other finger. I
predict it'll blow up sky-high with all of the underlying changes from
then to now in a bunch of mission-critical packages and their config
scripts. Do as you must. Me, I'd be backing up like a madman and setting
up a test box to install 10.04 fresh to and giving it a whirl to see
what blows up as you restore the data and package files, one at a time.
Forget using old config files directly. Use them as reference to edit
the new ones. When it works as you want it to, then put it online.
