how to connect Tata Docomo USB modem in Lucid

I did as you said and verified twice the connection settings as
mentioned in step 4 of blog.But it failed to connect to internet.I
mean it is not able to dial also.If I do not use usb-modeswitch then
the USB modem appears as a storage device but if I use I am at least
able to get the option to connect to this Tata Docomo internet.But it
is another thing that it is not dialing to the service provider.Some
how I found an interesting discussion here
