broken package libgdu0

Hi everybody,

I'm in need of some help with package updating, please.

I was running ubuntu 10.4 until a few weeks ago. Then I thought, OK,
I'll upgrade to 11.04 and went through the 10.10 and 11.04 upgrade
processes. No problems so far.

Then last week's update failed to complete.

This process left a couple of distorted entries in /var/lib/dpkg/status,
as shown by 'sudo dpkg --configure -a'. I edited these to something I
thought was logical and the 'sudo dpkg --configure -a' ran with no
complaints.

It seems that libgdu0 has a broken file list as shown by synaptic, which
shows no files in the package.

What should I do next to recover this package's file list?

Here's some process feedback -

paulc at wildlife:~$ sudo apt-get install --reinstall libgdu0

Any help in getting this sorted would be gratefully received.
