Hi,
I'm an Austrian IT professional living in Montpezat, a small village in
South France. I'm 100% GNU/Linux since 2001, and I made my first steps
with Slackware 7.1 on a battered 486.
My company (http://www.microlinux.fr) focuses on installing Linux and
Free Software networks for professionals, e. g. small town halls, public
libraries, schools, small offices and the likes.
I've been using various distributions for the job, including Slackware,
Debian, CentOS and Fedora. Some time ago I gave Ubuntu 10.04 LTS a spin
on a few sandbox machines and found the results encouraging. Right now
it's running on both server and desktops at my office, and I'm planning
to move my main dedicated server to 10.04. I like the idea of running
basically the same distribution on both servers and desktops (less to
learn, duh :oD).
I published two books about Linux under my pen name (search amazon.fr
for "kiki novak"), one focusing on UNIX basics, the other (co-authored)
about Ubuntu on the desktop (9.04 at the time). I'm currently planning a
series of three paperback books about Linux, from complete beginner to
server admin, based on 10.04.
Cheers from the sunny South of France,
Niki Kovacs
