problems installing Spanish language pack to Libreoffice in Ubuntu 11 resolved

Oops. sorry should have mentioned the release- 11.04.

There does not appear to be a spell checking item in synaptic.
Nothing under Spanish or Espanol anyway.


I went to Libreoffice's website and got the .deb from there.

There are a bunch of debs and if you need the list I can send it.

But it is not necessary.  I decided to install the latest
LanguageTool, figuring Libreoffice is basically just openoffice.  This
worked.

You need to install language support from System Settings (find it
with the shut down/switch user icon on top right or Applications
search for system should get it).   Once that is done, install
LanguageTool by downloading from their website www.languagetool.org/
There are insructions on the site.

Unlike openoffice, the tool installed automatically.  No need to add
it from within Libreoffice.
