I don't think that recompilation will be needed. Gcc or kernel version
don't matter. Perhaps if some libraries have changed, but I'm not an
expert. But that would sound like a drastic change and I'm sure that it
would be announced in the release notes. Have you read them?
Anyway I'm quite sure that as long as your Perl version doesn't change
that you don't have to recompile any Perl modules.
