Question re Unity Operation

I am trying to learn my way around Unity after many months of being
extremely happy with the previous version.  I have not figured out how
to do this:

        Keep the calendar displayed at top right while in another
        application such as writer.  I frequently use the calendar
        information while composing advertising articles and it is
        awkward to have to display it, try to remember which date I
        needed, go back to the writer project.
