Using Tor in Firefox

Polipo is a caching web proxy.  Actually, I use privoxy instead.

I also use Vidalia.  This is a gui that makes the connection, and then I
activate the Firefox button. It seems to work OK, though not being an
expert it took a bit of fiddling around to make it all work.
