Which manufacturer produces most of these diesel engines?  In the US, diesel 
fuel is higher priced per gallon than premium grade gasoline.  Plus the grade 
of fuel decreased suddenly around 4 years ago so fuel mileage for diesels 
dropped drastically.  Today, diesel powered vehicles are the costliest per 
mile of all vehicles operated here.

I think it was all done quite like unity was slipped in on us.  When gnome 
three arrives it will be welcomed even by those who wouldn't have otherwise 
abandoned gnome 2 as anything else would be many magnitudes better than unity.  
It was all just a ploy to get us all off of a no longer supported gnome and 
more willing to accept something inferior.  ...or at least live with it till 
it grows up.
