That bootchart shows slightly over 29 seconds (time: 00:29.14) to boot.
That's quite a difference from your previous statement " it takes about
50 sec to boot to the log-in screen". Are you still getting 29 seconds,
or has it gone back to 50? Check your bootchart for today's boot.
FWIW: on my laptop natty (on it's own partition) takes 39.85 sec,
maverick (same machine) takes 1 minute 35.51 seconds. Of course I have a
lot of processes/daemons/monitors teredo, VMWare, VirtualBox, etc., in
maverick. I reckon I should probably go in and do some cleaning on
maverick...
Natty is pretty clean overall as I use it mostly only for testing.
